I ❤️ My Hot Piss
I put a bumper sticker on my road case. I get noticed.
Die Spitz is probably my favorite band of the last few years, and I've been lucky enough to catch them three times this year.
I'm team Ava—three of the band members share vocals. Ava's songs speak to me the most. My Hot Piss is one of her more touching songs. Seriously, it's very melancholy and sweet. At least that's how I hear it. It also has an amazing Nirvana-style hook that would make Kurt Cobain blush.
Anyway, I love the song. Genuinely. When I saw this bumper sticker at their merch table, I had to have it.
I stuck it to my road case, not thinking much of it. Then I realized I had a lot of private gigs on the calendar in fancier places: benefits at golf courses, animal rescues at private clubs, farm events… I've gotten lots of comments, and there have been some awkward moments. But I've taken every single opportunity to share how great Die Spitz is, and how amazing this song is. Totally worth it.
