Grievous Bodily Harm
I recently stumbled upon this classic photo of GBH. I was a huge fan of their music in my punk days. Actually, I still am, although I haven’t purchased an album since 1987 or so.
I poured over this photo as a kid. Allow me to give you a guided tour. Notice that the guitar is not plugged in to anything. Notice also that the bass guitar and microphone are also not plugged in to anything.
My favorite part of the photo are the two blokes sitting on the ledge of the roof next to the drummer, only visible by their pokey haircuts. This part of the photo was always the most intriguing to me. I was always uncomfortable with these two guys’ proximity to the edge of the building. I was also not okay with the haircut on the right. It just seems too dumb for someone who got to hang out with such a cool band.
It may also interest you to know that my wife was once Colin Abrahall (the guy hanging from the mike stand) for Halloween one year. This is one of the reasons how come I know we were meant to be together forever.
